The Way



What do they say to do
when you are lost in the woods
Wandering in circles
Farther and farther
from where you want to be?
Sit still 
Wait for help
Wait for rescue
When I feel lost 
Like I am going in circles
getting farther and farther 
from myself
Then I sit
Still
Quietly
Focusing on breath
Focusing on nothing 
and letting everything come as it will
Feelings
Thoughts
Nothing
And very often I am shown the way
A knowing
A feeling
I do not always trust that part of me 
that knows the way
I want proof
A map perhaps?
To be your own rescuer
To trust your deepest self
The part that knows
Is sometimes difficult
But to do so will help you find the way
