Advice from the Garden

If the grass seems greener in someone else's garden, it is an illusion.  All gardens (and grass) are prone to pests, disease and bouts of bad weather.  The best thing you can do is to tend your own garden as best you can, evict the pests, treat the diseases, and ride out the bad weather.

Nourishment and water: provide both regularly.

Establish boundaries:  boundaries let others know where they can tread and, more importantly, where they can't.

Embrace imperfection:  what is perfection anyway but someone else's opinion of what your garden should look like?

Weed Weed Weed:  look often for sneaky weeds which often disguise themselves as something they are not.  Pull them out fast from the root.

Prune and trim:  Don't be afraid to get rid of excess when things take over too much space.
Everything needs space to grow and develop.

Attention:  Spend a little time each day tending your garden and it will use less of your time and energy than fixing it later if you neglect it.

Be Creative:  Don't be afraid to experiment and have fun.  A little bit of whimsy never hurts.

Support:  If things are falling down and falling apart use support systems to help right things.

Remember that your garden will always be a work in progress and in a state of constant change. Your garden will never be finished or complete, but if you tend to it, it will thrive.
