I like these birds, Mourning Doves. They are calm and slow and patient. They aren't pushy like the Jays, or flashy like the Cardinals. They don't seem nervous like the Chickadees. Their cooing is a very soothing sound.
There are a lot of doves around my backyard these days, cleaning up the leftovers left on the ground from the more picky eaters. They must enjoy each others company as I often see them sitting together in a group. Or maybe they are huddling for warmth?
