First day of Spring. That has a happy ring to it. Even though today was cool, it was sunny and there is a definite feel of a change of season coming. The days are longer (helped along by the hour time change last weekend) and the warmth of the sun cuts through the chill in the air. It was good to spend a happy half hour on the deck basking in the sun with a steamy cup of tea.
My heart skips a beat or two like a lovesick teenager at the thought of warm months ahead. Not much makes me happier than spending time in the garden, the smell of the earth, the sounds of the birds and things starting to sprout. I spent a happy few hours a week ago readying the garden, raking and pruning - in shorts no less!
This evenings walk was cool and crisp and the weather forecast for the week ahead calls for less than spring like conditions, but I know we have turned the corner and soon it will be time for planting.
Big smile.
